A unique genius who amused the hell out of me in so many films; YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, SILVER STREAK, BLAZING SADDLES and even the very uneven SHERLOCK HOLMES' SMARTER BROTHER. Never cared for THE PRODUCERS I'm afraid.

Best Wilder line, Gene to Cleavon Little (who can barely contain himself)from Mel Brook's BLAZING SADDLES:... "My name's Jim.... but most people call me........Jim." Still cracks me up!

PeteNZPetehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13863364769084676156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7063592677187148799.post-73670515267376287192016-08-31T18:24:26.122+12:002016-08-31T18:24:26.122+12:00Hi Rodger

That could be O'Bie on the left with Byron Crabbe at right.
Normally a communique such as yours might very well result in me slapping you with a white glove and demanding "pistols at dawn"..... but you seem like a decent sort of bloke, so we'll let it go this time. ;)

PeteNZPetehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13863364769084676156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7063592677187148799.post-74049351989776275572016-08-31T12:33:15.171+12:002016-08-31T12:33:15.171+12:00As usual, I loved every picture. But I do have one...As usual, I loved every picture. But I do have one question about the two shot of Mario Larrinaga and Byron Crabbe working on a KONG painting together. Are you certain that it is Larrinaga? Every picture I've seen of him during his work on KONG shows him with a mustache and the man on the left (who, to me, bears more of a resemblance to Willis O'Brien) is clean shaven. As further evidence, there is a picture on your blog devoted to KONG of O'Brien and Larrinaga in a "brush off" that I suspect was taken at the same time. Larringa is wearing a tight pull-over sweater while O'Brien is in a suit jacket as is the man on the left with Crabbe.

Of course absolutely nothing is riding on the accuracy of your captions. But two old guys debating some obscure facts about some outrageously niche interest; this sort of thing used to go on at the end of a neighborhood bar now thanks to the Net we can do it at opposite ends of the earth.Rodger Reynoldsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7063592677187148799.post-44634815360755904482016-08-29T13:16:01.172+12:002016-08-29T13:16:01.172+12:00You're welcome!
