It's appreciated.

Re: your question... well, firstly you no doubt mean Matthew Yuricich rather than his younger brother Richard. Matt was the painter and Richard was the fx cinematographer.

I know absolutely nothing about the BBC show you mention (though it sounds very intriguing) and can't offer any info I'm afraid. I've never heard of a matte painting ever being offered as a prize in any shape or form. Again, most fascinating! If you ever do find out, please tell me.

Regards

PeterNZPetehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13863364769084676156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7063592677187148799.post-12202051790514737772020-11-05T07:55:49.009+13:002020-11-05T07:55:49.009+13:00A wealth of information and stunning illustrations...A wealth of information and stunning illustrations. Thanks for sharing your passion with us.
Do you know whatever happened to the matte painting by Richard Yuricich from Logan's Run that was presented to the winner of Film Buff of the Year (?).This was a BBC show I think broadcast late 1970s or early 1980s as I remember.
I hope you may be able to solve the mystery.
Many thanks.
David Hilton.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17955988527404081042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7063592677187148799.post-60857674386016770722020-09-18T22:07:04.250+12:002020-09-18T22:07:04.250+12:00Hello, I enjoy reading through your post. Now, a Disney retrospective! All I can say is: please, please continue. Your expertise and passion for this late great form inspires us all. Thank you so much. And, I'll try to dig up a few movies with expansive scenes that *must* be matte art work, and I'll forward them to you for your expert analysis. Those words sum it up. Nothing wrong with simplistic. In fact, the older I get the more tired I've become of the films, with some exceptions, that come out every year.
